Roses are red
Your beauty lies in the force of your being
God is dead
Yet I’m still trying
Life is so sad, and yet as bitter as it is, it is too short
But you make it worth it all
You are like the sad fireside corner of my heart
I lay with conflicting thoughts, of doubt and of tranquility
Do I stay in my circle of calm or brave the sea, striving
I do not want to choose between fireside and seas
But with you by my side, I can do it all
O sorrow, you are like a well-beloved
I only wish for one last thing
When you leave my embrace, please be sure of it
You leave like honey drops of time
At the light of my life
You might enter the depths of my heart on a dime
But my weary soul is spent
And I’m done with trying
